Rev. Cindy Maybeck, M.Div

Rev. Cindy Maybeck practices a robust prayer life and lives daily in the light of Christ. As a spiritual director, she will provide guidance, support and reflection upon your spiritual life. By listening deeply, praying constantly and opening fully to God’s presence, Cindy will coach you in developing your own spiritual practices and in discerning God’s invitations in your life and ministry. 

After receiving her MDiv with honors from Andover Newton Theological School, Rev. Maybeck served as pastor in congregations united with American Baptist Churches and the United Church of Christ; she provided regional leadership in both denominations. She taught family systems and emotional process to clergy, using her own experience of equal parts grit and good humor to resolve church conflicts. After 24 years working as a church pastor, she created Spirit Story Ministry to present biblical and personal storytelling in pulpits, workshops and retreats for churches throughout the U.S. and Canada. As a spiritual director, Rev. Maybeck draws on her learning from the Spiritual Exercises of St. Ignatius and the Pastoral Guidance Program at Shalem Institute.
