Rev. Canon Hannah Anderson

Ministry Coach

Raised in a Quaker family in the Philadelphia area, Hannah grew up in a family involved in social justice and politics. In her early thirties, she experienced an unexpected call to enter the Episcopal Church where she was encouraged to attend seminary in Sewanee, TN. Ordained as an Episcopal priest in 1994, Hannah has served as rector (senior pastor) for four churches as well as diocesan staffs in PA, NYC, Western MA and NH. She also served as chaplain in a hospital setting and at Ground Zero in NYC. Her DMin., from Seabury Western, focuses on adaptive leadership as an Artist-Priest.

In 2018, Hannah retired from full time ministry and founded Golden Thread Coaching and Consultation. She focuses on life coaching for people of all ages who are going through a transition. In addition, Hannah brings training and skills in adaptive leadership, the healing arts, spiritual direction and deep listening. With clients across the United States, she is enriched by a range of ages and ethnicities, socioeconomic class and gender choice. Two thirds of her clients are not affiliated with any denomination. Creating safe space for people to be their authentic selves is one of Hannah’s priorities. A painting entitled ‘Here All Dwell Free’ graces her office.

She and her husband, Bob, are new residents of Richmond, VA. Hannah loves abstract painting, hiking, swimming, reading and spending time with people she loves, especially her three sons, daughters in law and six grandchildren.
