Rev. Dr. Jean Marchant received her BA in Human Services and Adult Training and Development from the University of Massachusetts, and her Masters of Divinity Degree from Weston Jesuit School of Theology. She also holds a Doctor of Ministry Degree in Pastoral Counseling from the Graduate Theological Foundation. Ordained with the Roman Catholic Womenpriest Movement, Jean is Co-Pastor of The Spirit of Life: A Catholic Community of Justice and Joy and has ministered in the Boston area for the past 30 years as a Hospice Chaplain, Spiritual Director, and licensed Marriage and Family Therapist.
Through her ministry she has accompanied people through a myriad of life transitions, with a special focus on persons coping with issues of spiritual and emotional well-being, those living with life threatening illnesses, and children and adults grieving the death of a loved one. Jean is the co-founder of The Children’s Room: A Center for Grieving Children and Teenagers, Inc. New to the Center, Jean brings her experience of mentoring Chaplains in healthcare ministry, and directing the formation of candidates for ordination in the Roman Catholic Womenpriest movement. She is married and the mother of two adult daughters and grandmother of five.
