Rev. Dr. Ronald Hindelang, PhD, STL, BCC, LMHC, nourished by the spiritual wisdom from many traditions. ministers out of his Catholic heritage. He holds the Doctor in Philosophy in Pastoral Psychology from Boston University and the Licentiate in Sacred Theology from the Gregorian University in Rome. Licensed as a Mental Health Counselor, Ron is a Clinical Fellow in the American Association of Pastoral Counselors, a Certified Educator in the Association of Clinical Pastoral Education and a Board Certified Chaplain in the Association of Professional Chaplains. In addition to spending many years preaching and directing retreats, ministering as a spiritual director, and pastoral counselor for individuals and couples, Ron has served as a parish priest and pastor and as a seminary director, and has ministered for thirty-five years as a hospice and hospital chaplain. Ron takes delight in helping people explore the ways in which God is moving in their lives and the ways that God is calling them to minister to others. He shares his ministerial experience in the service of helping the next generation of spiritual care-givers develop their own ministerial identity and style. His areas of special interest include ministering to patients and families at the end of life, grief and bereavement counseling and ministering to victims of domestic violence.
With his wife, Rev. Jean Marchant, Ron co-pastors The Spirit of Life: A Catholic Community of Justice and Joy. Two daughters and five grandchildren bring great joy to his life. Gardening, walking by the ocean and in the woods nourish his spirit. Ron celebrates, “I feel truly blessed. The best way of saying thank you is to pass it on. It is all part of God’s economy of abundance: when we share our blessings and life wisdom, we are all enriched.
